Non - Ferrous metal melting
Electric resistance furnaces
Application:
Electric resistance melting and holding crucible furnaces CAC type are designed for melting foundry
alloys of aluminium, zinc and Cu alloys (brass) or holding the same at the casting temperature.
Description:
Light steel cylindrical construction made of sectional steel is covered with a metal sheet covering.
The furnace is lined with low weight insulating materials. Melting crucible is fitted in the centre
of the heating room on a stand which is a part of the bottom and secured against shifting . Heating
elements made of resistance wire are placed on ceramic tubes that are suspended on the walls of the
heating room. The replacement is performed by removing the crucible and fitting new heating elements
in place. The heating elements life is presumably 30 months, depending on the furnace operation.
The furnace is covered with a turning cover that is lifted manually using a handgrip and pushed to
either side.
Electric Control Box and Electric Circuits:
Protecting, switching, controlling and measuring devices are placed in the switchboard or on the
front door. Energy supply cable is lead from a cable duct through the bottom to the switchboard.
Above-the-standard Equipment:
- thermocouples calibration
- temperature control according to a thermocouple fitted in the crucible lug. The thermocouple at heating elements shall be retained as a safety device (a safety controller – a thermostat - is installed inside the box)
- switching clock (7-day, 24-hour)
- power controll by SSR semiconductor contactless switch
- voltmeter on the front panel
- power meter on the front panel
- recorder on the equipment
- PC-communication controller
- temperature light signalling (lighting panel)
- cover pneumatic lifting with electric or pneumatic foot-operated control
- flue gas exhaustion from the area under the cover

Electric induction furnaces
Use:
Electric induction low frequency melting and holding furnaces are designed to melt foundry alloys of aluminium,
zinc and Cu alloys (brass) or to hold them at the casting temperature.
Equipment Description:
Crucible furnaces:
The metal is melted in a rammed ceramic crucible. The crucible and the copper coil are fixed in the frame.
The furnace is tilted by means of hydraulic cylinders.
Channel furnaces:
The heat is generated in channel which is formed by melted metal. The channel is a secondary coil of the
furnace transformer.
Controlling and measuring devices are placed in the switchbox. Compensation condensers for the betterment of the furnace power factor and balancing equipment (condensers and transductors) are installed separately in the box.
